British novelist Conrad＇s Heart of Darkness is regarded as the first realistic novel in the history of English literature, which dis- cusses the inner world of the civilized people in the absence of civilization and moral constraints. Through the analysis of black and white, destruction and redemption, the ideal and nothingness in the novel from the perspective of binary oppositions, it aims to further reveal the value of humanity and civilization implicated in the novel.
