生态翻译学视阈下的《大明律》英译研究

A Study on the English Version of the Great Ming Code From the Perspective of Eco-translatology

《大明律》是中国法制史上具有划时代意义的法典,直到2005年,由Jiang Yonglin翻译的《大明律》英译本才面世,为西方汉学界研究中国14世纪末期的法文化提供了可能。文章拟从生态翻译学(eco-translatology)这一理论视角解析该译本在目的语国家遐迩闻名之原因。研究发现,Jiang Yonglin的译本适应目的语翻译生态环境,凸显译者为中心的翻译原则,保持译文和原文在语言维度、文化维度、交际生态维度的和谐与平衡,最终使得该译本誉满全球。文章可拓宽《大明律》英译本的研究范围,推动中国法律典籍更好地走向世界,从而促进中西方法文化交流。

The Great Ming Code is a landmark in Chines legal history, whose English version has not been available until in 2005 when Jiang Yonglin finished his version. Jiang Yonglin＇ s version renders it possible for Western Sinology scholars to study the Chinese legal cultural of the late fourteenth century. This article attempts to explore the reason why Jiang＇ s version is so popular in the target - oriented culture from the perspective of eco - translatology. It finds that Jiang＇ s version fits the ecological environment of translation in language, culture and communication in the target - oriented culture, which makes it internationally renowned. This article will broaden the research perspective of the English version of the Great Ming Code, help project China culture upon the world and still further promote the legal culture interaction between Chinese and Western countries.
