董仲舒“名性以中”的王化之道

摘要 董仲舒人性论“名性以中”的观点,历来备受争议。其原因有两点:一是董仲舒只认为“中民之性”可以名性,而“圣人之性”和“斗筲之性”不可以名性,这里存在“名性”定义上的矛盾;二是对于这个矛盾产生的原因,研究者们也各持己见。实际上,无论是“名性”矛盾定义的探讨,还是对矛盾产生原因的分析。都应该结合董仲舒所生活的时代大环境来研究,即大一统的时代背景。由此出发,可以看到董仲舒“名性以中”观点乃为大一统“王化”张目。 Dong Zhongshu's statement "only the moderate human nature be named"has long been debated over. There are two reasons. First, as Dong Zhongshu thinks only the moderate human nature should be named, a contradiction in the definition of "name and nature"is brought into our attention. Second, the reason for this contradiction itself has long been a controversy among scholars. But regardless of which reason we are talking about, the social context in which Dong Zhongshu lived in should be taken into consideration, i.e., a time of unification. From this point of view, we can say that Dong's statement is propaganda for national unification.
