魏晋南北朝志怪小说的空间叙事内容丰富,既有现实世界中的各种空间,也有与现实世界不同的超现实空间、魔幻空间和象征空间等,蕴含着深厚的文化内涵。魏晋南北朝志怪小说主要有两类叙事结构:现实空间与非现实空间的穿越,空间秩序由混乱回复到平衡的过程。这些空间叙事具有实现时间的空间化、空间的主题化,推进叙事视角转换和情节发展等重要功能,对于中国后世文学的发展有着极为重要的影响。

Spatial narrations of the tales of mystery and the supernatural during Dynasties of the Wei,Jin,Northern and Southern have substantial contents. These spatial narrations include material space,surrealistic space,magic space and symbolic space etc. with abundant culture implications. They have two main types on narrative structures： the travel back and forth in the real space and non real space; the process of spatial order from chaos to balance. These spatial narrations have the functions of the spacing of time,themed space,narrative perspective-shift,storyline development. They exerted extremely important influence on the development of later literature in China.
