现代中药药名“衷中参西”翻译策略探析

Analysis on Translating the Titles of Modern Chinese Herbal Medicine with the Strategy of Combination of East and West

现代中药是以西药理化理论将中药传统性能和功效予以表达,现代中药的特点是现代生物医学技术与传统中医药融合。现代中药药名是现代中药的重要组成部分。本文依据《中华人民共和国药典(2015版,第一部)》、《中医基本名词术语中英对照国际标准》和《实用英文中医词典》3部文献,分析了现代中药药名中现代医学术语以及传统中医学术语的英译策略,认为在其译名满足准确性、可读性、透明性原则的基础上,根据现代中药的内涵,建议采用"衷中参西"策略平衡中西药术语以保持现代中药药名的中医药特征,以实现中医药文化的传播。研究对促进中医药在现代化进程中的理性发展,中医药术语的规范化等方面都具有建设性意义。

Modern Chinese herbal medicine means to demonstrate traditional Chinesemedicine with modern medicine theory, which is the combination of modern biomedical technology and traditional Chinese medicine. The title is a vital part of modern Chinese herbal medicine. To analyze the modern Chinese herbal medicine in Practical Dictionary of Chinese Medicine （ Second Edition） , International Standard Chinese -English Basic Nomenclature of Chinese Medicine, and Chinese Pharmacopoeia, the article concluded that besides the accuracy, readability and explicitness, the medical title of Chinese medicine should be featureed by demonstrating Chinese quality in western style. The study showed constructive significance on the standardization of TCM terminology and the rational development of modem Chinese herbal medicine, which provided a new perspective for the standardization of Chinese medicine terminology.
