Some Thoughts on Islam Sinicization

讨论"伊斯兰教中国化",其前提是需要我们中国社会能对伊斯兰教有全面、透彻的了解和公道、正确的评价。伊斯兰教是世界三大宗教之一,其文化体系和文明形态对人类发展有着独特的贡献。但世界尤其是西方世界对伊斯兰教的偏见在加剧,这种不利、负面的舆论也在中国社会蔓延,社会在宗教、民族问题上的猜忌、误解、敌视和分化在加剧、恶化,尤其在对伊斯兰教的理解及评价上也受到西方偏见的影响和驱动,令人担心和不安。实际上,伊斯兰教传入中国后,一直在不断适应中国社会、对话中国思想、会通中华文化,已经形成了优秀传统,积累了丰富经验。"伊斯兰教中国化"是当前"我国宗教坚持中国化方向"的具体体现,要持开放、开拓、开明的观念。"伊斯兰教中国化"过程也是我们中华文化积极吸纳伊斯兰教优秀文化因素的过程,是开放、对话、交流之双向互动即"双赢"的过程。

A comprehensive and thorough understanding and a fair and correct evaluation on Islam is the premise of discussion about the Islam Sinicization. Islam, as one of the world＇ s three major religions, its cultural system and civilization form has made a unique contribution to the development of human beings. But with the aggravation of prejudice against Islam in the world, especially in the western world, this disadvantageous and negative public opinion has also spread into Chinese society, and social suspicion, misunderstanding, hostility and differentiation to- wards religious and ethnic issues, is getting intensified and deteriorated, and Chinese people＇ s understanding and evaluation of Islam is also influenced and driven by the western prejudice. These phenomena are very worrying and disturbing. In fact, since Islam was introduced into China, it has constantly adapted to Chinese society, having dia- logues with Chinese thoughts, absorbing elements of Chinese cultures, and has formed excellent traditions and accumulated rich experience. Therefore, the sinicization of Islam is the concrete embodiment of the China＇ s religious policy, i.e. ＂China＇ s religions stick to the direction of sinicization＂. Hence Chinese people should have an open, pioneering and liberal concepts and ideas about sinicization of Islam, for it is a process in which Chinese culture can absorb the outstanding Islamic cultural factors, and it is also a ＂win-win＂ process with bidirectional interaction of communication, opening attitudes and dialogues.
