文字是人类进入文明时代的重要标志之一。纸张发明以前,人类用于记录文字的主要材料有龟甲、兽骨、陶泥、玉石、青铜、简牍和缯帛等,其中以简牍使用最为广泛,时间最长。简牍应用于文字记录,历经战国、秦至汉方达到鼎盛。对简牍基本概况的梳理,是应用简牍进一步深入研究的基础。因此,文章从简牍名实、汉简种类及价值、汉简形制与用途等三方面对汉代简牍作细致梳理,以备深入分类研究之用。

Writing system is a very important mark for human civilization. Before paper was invented, people used turtle shell, animal bones, potteries, jades, bronze, bamboos and silk fabrics to write, in which bamboos were used widely. They were used to write record from Warring States period and to Qin and Han period. A comprehensive review is the foun- dation for further study. The name, classification and value, formation, and usage are studied for classification study.
