Paradigm and Value Selection of Pu Songling Studies——A Folk-Based Investigation

蒲先慧先生专注于蒲松龄家世生平研究,现已出版著述两部:《淄邑蒲氏源中原汉蒲新考》和《蒲松龄传奇》。蒲先慧先生对蒲松龄家世生平的研究,与传统的历史研究范式不同,侧重于蒲氏口碑资料和民间传说的搜集、整理。家世生平属于历史性研究范畴,是所有学术阐释和历史研究的基础。从某种意义上来说,并不存在文献资料就一定比口碑资料和民间传说更加可靠的问题。因此,应该给予口碑资料和民间传说应有的重视。从学理的角度来看,对蒲松龄民间传说予以搜集整理和研究,这是蒲松龄研究深化和拓展的标志之一。

Mr. Pu Xianhui is concentrating on studies of Pu Songling＇s family and life, and has published two books so far： A New Investigation of Pu ＇ s Source and Pu Songling Legend. Different from traditional paradigm, Mr. Pu Xianhui＇s researches focus on the collection and collation of Pu＇s reputation and folklore. Family and life studies, within the category of historical researches, are the basis of all academic interpretation and historical researches. In a sense, documentations are not certainly more reliable than the reputation information and folklore, which therefore deserve due atten- tion. From the academic point of view, the collection and studies of Pu Songling folklores are a sign of the deepening and expansion of Pu Songling studies.
