The paper introduces the basic principle of incremental dynamic analysis, expounds the significance of intensity measures in incremen-tal dynamic analysis, summarizes the research progress of vector-valued intensity measures and points out that investigation on vector-valued inten-sity measures is important and promising in the field of aseismic engineering.
