清代吴中女医顾德华考略

A brief investigation on Gu Dehua, a female healer from Wuzhong in the Qing Dynasty

女医是传统中国医疗从业人员的特殊群体,一方面宋元以来掌握社会话语权的士人阶层,和以医学正统自居的男性医者,常常通过各种媒介方式,表达对女医道德、技术水平的质疑,并使其形象不断负面化;而另一方面,基于12世纪宋明理学兴起后男女有别的意识形态,社会一直对于女医及其服务存在现实的强大需求,一位优秀的女医仍可以获得社会的广泛尊重.顾德华是清代的一位著名女医.通过对其家世、事迹与著作的初步考证,可以增进对这位清代著名女医的了解,并借此窥视明清社会中女医这一群体的相关情况.

The female healer is a special community in traditional Chinese medical professionals. Since the Song-Yuan Dynasties, although the literati class holding the social voices and the male healers act-ing as medical orthodoxy were always suspicious of the female healers＆#39; behaviors and their medical morali-ty, and tarnished their images through all kinds of media. Meanwhile, the female healers were still badly needed on the account of recognition of distinction between sexes between both sexes due to the rising of neo-Confucianism. An excellent female healer could still earn wide respect from the society. Gu Dehua was a fa-mous female healer from Wuzhong in the Qing Dynasty＆#39; s Daoguang-Xianfeng period. By investigating Gu Delua＆#39; s family conditions, deeds and works, and her career, the community of the female healers in the Ming-Qing Dynasties can be thus understood.
