众手成志更需“雅擅三长”的总纂

Chief Compilers with“Three Strengths”Are Much Needed When Local Records Are Compiled by Many People

中国古代对志书总纂的选用极为重视,非"雅擅三长"者不用,从而保证了志书质量,使得一大批佳志脱颖而出。相比旧志,新方志编修存在对志书总纂地位、作用认识不足,遴选标准不高,志书总纂实质缺位等问题,影响了志书质量。可见打造精品志书必须选择"雅擅三长"的优秀总纂,新方志不但要强调众手成志,更要加强总纂工作。

In ancient China,great importance was attached to the selection of chief compilers of local records.Only persons with'Three Strengths 'were selected and consequently the quality of local records was guaranteed and a great number of quality local records emerged. In comparison with old local records,new local records compilation has problems such as lack of recognition to the position and role of chief compilers,setting low selection standards for chief compilers,or absence of chief compilers in some local records compilation,leading to negative influences on local records quality. Therefore,we can see that outstanding chief compilers must be selected strictly to compile quality local records. In new local records compilation,we must not only emphasize compilation by many people,but also strengthen the work of chief compilers.
