Thick Layer and Earth-God:The Interview with ZHANG Baogui

张宝贵先生20年的山西插队经历,使他对黄土有着独到的深刻认识。之后在他进入建材行业,与诸多建筑师开展业务合作的过程中,经过不断实验尝试、钻研工艺,终于利用水泥、石渣等建筑废料为骨料,成功制成了一种仿石材肌理和质感的新型建筑材料——装饰混凝土。这种材料不仅轻质高强,而且变废为宝,节约了石材、减少了资源浪费。成功面前,张宝贵先生没有止步不前,为了适应不同项目的需求,他继续朝着让这种材料更加精致、富有变化和实现个性化、批量定制的目标探索。

The twenty years living experiences of educated youth going to the countryside in rural areas of Shanxi, had an indelible influence on Mr. Zhang Bao-gui, and also made a deep understanding of him about the loess. He thereafter entered the building materials industry, and started the cooperation with many famous architects. Through experimental trials and constant study, he used slag cement, stone and other construction waste as aggregate, and successfully made decorative concrete imitating stone fabric and texture. It not only saves stone material and reduces the waste of resources, but also has the property of light weight and high strength. With this success, he continued to explore how to make this kind of material more delicate with rich variations, in order to achieve personalized batch customization, and adapt to the needs of different projects.
