The Color Purple is the most famous epistolary novel by Alice Walker, an American contemporary black woman writer. It is hailed as a monumental work in the American Black Female Literature history. With epistolary narrative strategies this novel gives voice to a black woman who suffered much oppression and devastation and highlights the Feminism theme. The epistolary narrative technique and style of The Color Purple are discussed and analyzed in the perspectives： multiple person narration, in which the first person narration is used as the main clue and interwoven with the second and third person narration, and double narration, in which the epistolary narrative style of The Color Purple is discussed through the analysis of the dual character relationship, double personality, double narrative language and double narrative theme.
