Jinan Becomes the First Water Ecological Civilization City

济南在全国率先启动了水生态文明建设,2012年10月被水利部确定为全国首个试点市。创建期间,济南市形成了"政府主导、部门合作、社会参与"的强大合力,精心组织、实施了河湖水系连通、水生态修复与保护、节水减排和泉城水文化培育等410余项建设任务,规划建设了一批影响深远的重点项目,完成投资309亿元……

Jinan is called the city of springs,also known as the paradise of water.Dotted with springs,it has the Yellow River wriggling in the north which nourishes the city,Xiaoqing River of combined enchantment across time in the middle,lakes of various shapes gleaming like peals in the southern mountain area.But there is still a shortage of water in Jinan.The water resources per capita was 290 cubic meters,the average water resource occupation per mu was 322 cubic meters,and the water shortage reached 600 million cubic meters each year.Jinan took the lead in the water civilization construction in China.In October 2012,Jinan was chosen as the first pilot city for the project by the Ministry of Water Resources.Following the 'leadership of government,cooperation between departments and participation of the society',Jinan has carried out over 400 projects for city water systems connection,water ecology restoration and protection,water-saving and discharge reduction,cultivation and publicity of the springs culture.It has planned and constructed a batch of significant projects of far-reaching influence with an investment of 30.9 billion yuan.After years of arduous works,Jinan has finally become China's first 'water civilization city' as 27 indexes and 10 demonstration projects for the project passed quality acceptance.During this period,it also searched out a road of water civilization city construction with its distinctive features.Now,the enchanting scenery of spurting springs,pure lakes,broad rivers,clean water and landscape that coexist in perfect harmony is unfolding in Jinan.
