察哈尔右翼前旗契丹女尸死因探析

On the Exploration of the Death Reasons for a Khitan Woman's Body Found at Chahar Right Front Banner

1981年察哈尔右翼前旗固尔班乡豪欠营村湾子山M6出土了一具契丹女尸,她的体内有大量砷即砒霜,使她的死因扑朔迷离。经分析她的死亡有三种原因:一为砷中毒而死亡,或人为下毒,或自己服毒,亦或常年服用含砷药物,日积月累而致;二为非砷中毒而死亡,砷是按照契丹葬俗在她死后放入其体内,用以防止其尸体腐化的;三为分娩过程中大出血而死亡,砷是为了落胎而服用的。在这三个原因中,分娩过程中大出血而死亡是最有说服力的原因。

In 1981, a Khitan woman＇s body was unearthed at Tomb 6 near the Mount of Wanzi at Village of Hao-qian at Gurban Township of Chahar Right Front Banner; her corpse contains a lot of arsenic, which made her death reasons bewilder- ing. There are three reasons for her death on the following analyses. The first analysis is that she was poisoned to death from arsenic either by someone or herself or by her abuse of arsenic for a long time; the second analysis is that she was not poi- soned to death from arsenic because arsenic was put into her body to protect her corpse from corruption in accordance with the Khitan funeral customs; the third analysis is that she died of too much of bleeding during her childbirth, for arsenic was taken for her abortion of the baby in her body, which is the most compelling reason.
