The Influence of Telegram Technology on Journalism in the Late of Qing Dynasty

技术发展带来媒介突变。美国学者德弗勒认为,从进化论范例角度看,最有助于适应社会需要的技术将发展成为新媒介系统。[1]我国新闻通讯技术的应用和发展,肇始自晚清电报技术的传入,其加速了新闻信息的传递速度,打破了信息传递的时空限制,同时对于近代中国的新闻事业和民主化进程的发展有着极大作用,客观上加速了清政府的瓦解和崩溃。电报的传入与应用,使中国的新闻事业向现代新闻业方向走去。文章以介绍电报传入我国的历程为宏观背景,着眼点在于电报的传入对我国新闻事业发展所产生的影响,采用史料分析、对比等方法,进行归纳并总结。

The development of technology brought the break out of media. Defleur M.L, an American scholar, he thought that in terms of evolutionism paradigm, the technologies which help us adapt the society most will develop into the new media system. After telegram introduced into China at the end of Qing dynasty, it inspired the media＇s development significantly, accelerated the speed of communication, and broke the limitation of time and space in the process of information delivery. Simultaneously, it helped China＇ s media business as well as domestic democracy have a big leap, ending the Qing government in advance objectively. Telegram＇s brought in and application headed China＇s modem Journalism run in a right way. This paper sets the process of how telegram introduced into China as a macro background, and focuses on the impacts it has on China＇s Journalism business. As for the methods, this paper mainly takes content research, comparison research, etc. This paper will be ended with demonstration and conclusion.
