Since this year, the domestic con- sumption market has operated smoothly on the whole and played an important role in stabilizing economic growth. Ac- cording to the monitoring of the MOF- COM, in January-September, 5,000 major retail businesses have accumulated an in- crease of 3.7% year on year, 0.1 percent- age points faster than the first half of the year. Among these, the sales volume in September went up 4.2% year on year, 0.2 percentage points faster than in August, surging to a new peak since this year. According to the statistics of the State Statistics Bureau, in January-August, the retail sales of the national social con- sumer goods accumulated to RMB21.1 trillion, up 10.3% year on year, remaining the same growth as that of the first half of this year. The consumption market mainly showed the following highlights： The new business enjoyed a rapid development.
