刘文典一生与日本的关系极其复杂,早年曾经留学日本,把日本当作中国学习的榜样。抗日战争爆发后,刘文典在西南联大任教期间开始认清日本真实面貌,于是写文章揭露日本的险恶用心。抗战胜利前夕,刘文典写下了怎么处置日本的文章,文中内容具有前瞻性,尤其是关于琉球的论述对当今仍然具有重要的借鉴意义。因此,有必要对刘文典的日本观进行深入研究,以期为当代国防建设服务。
