陶瓷艺术工匠精神在漫长的历史演变中逐步形成,其主要包含师道精神、敬业精神、创造精神、实践精神等。陶瓷艺术工匠精神在当代发展中曾一度衰微并在当前仍然存在一些不良问题,使工匠精神的当代发展面临危机,因此,亟需在观念、典范、制度等各方面采取措施努力发展当代陶瓷艺术工匠精神。
