20世纪30年代中国的妇女解放运动在实践上开始与民族解放运动紧密相联,但在现实中国民政府加强了对思想界的控制,并不利于妇女解放运动的开展。黄心勉基于个人生活经历及其对中国妇女问题的理解和思考创办了《女子月刊》,以期刊为阵地开展唤醒妇女、改善社会环境、解放妇女和复兴民族的工作。《女子月刊》在版面设计、题材选定、文章内容、语言风格等方面都尽量切合妇女同胞的阅读习惯和审美趣味,一直坚持为近代中国的妇女解放运动服务,充当旗手和鼓手,成为20世纪30年代中国妇女解放运动的指路明灯。

The Chinese women＇s liberation movement began to closely link with the national liberation movement in practice in the 1930 s.But in reality the national government strengthened the ideological control,which was not conducive to the development of women＇s liberation movement.Based on his personal life experiences and his understanding of Chinese women＇s issues,Huang Xin-mian founded the magazine Women＇s Monthly as the position aiming to awaken women,improve the social environment,liberate women and revive the Chinese nation.Women＇s Monthly made efforts to meet women＇s reading habits and aesthetic taste in the aspects of the layout design,theme selection,content,language style as far as possible,always adhering to the service for women＇s liberation movement in modern China,acting as the standard-bearer and the drummer in the women＇s movement,which became the guiding light of women＇s movement in the 1930 s.
