Professor XIA Guicheng,a National Chinese Medical Science Master,gets his unique and efficient method of treating dysmenorrhea caused by endometriosis based on the syndrome differentiation. Hence,this paper aims to summarize the experience of Professor Xia Guicheng in treating dysmenorrhea due to endometriosis. Professor XIA believes that the disorder is rooted in the deficiency of kidney-yang,combined with blood stasis,therefore,the treatment principle should be tonifing kidney to regulate menstruation,together with dispersing blood stasis to promote menstruational flow,which stresses the importance of syndrome differentiation. In addition,adjusting and controlling of the mood-emotion as well as paying attention to daily diet are also advocated,all of which have achieved good therapeutic effects in clinical practice.
