How to Comment on Mao Zedong's Argument about Ethnic Issues——A Discussion with Mr. Chao Feng

毛泽东曾经说:"民族斗争,说到底,是一个阶级斗争问题。"这一命题究竟能不能成立,当然是可以讨论的。但巢峰先生对这一命题的批评却违反了普通逻辑的基本原则,主要表现是概念不清、逻辑混乱;在引述毛泽东有关民族问题的另一论述时,巢先生还有意无意地采取了断章取义的做法;巢先生对《共产党宣言》在民族问题上的有关观点,也缺乏深刻理解,等等。巢先生批评文章中存在的语文和逻辑方面的问题,不利于甚至会干扰对有关问题的正常讨论。

In Mao Zedong＇s elaboration on ethnic issues, he argued that in China, the national struggle in essence was a class struggle. The proposition still needs further discussion and the criticism made by Chao Feng did not comply with basic logical principles. The limitations in his comment include the lack of proper interpretation of major concept and logical consistency in Mao＇s proposition. Chao deliberately or unconsciously made a misinterpretation out of the context when referring Mao＇s argument about ethnic issues. Chao Feng＇s interpretation of national issues in The Communist Manifesto also lacks theoretical depth. The literal mistakes and logical error in Chao＇s criticism will hinder the proper comprehension of ethnic issues.
