The Cang Lang Pavilion, or the Surging Wave Pavilion, is a famous Chinese classical garden sitting in Suzhou. The paper discusses the development and fate of the Cang Lang Pavilion from different angles, including the origin of Cang Lang Water, the landscape of Cang Lang garden, the highlights of Cang Lang realm, and the inheritance of conceptual Cang Lang Water. The author analyzes the historical and cultural roots of the physical existence of Cang Lang Pavilion for one thousand years and its spiritual presence for two thousand years, in an attempt to reveal the fact that the essence and unique values of classical Chinese gardens are preserved through an internal mechanism that encourages the interactions between the garden, humanitarian spirit, nature and social development. The author also discusses in the paper the interwoven expressions of sentiments, scenes, aura and meaning and the law of development that one can find in Chinese classical gardens such as the Cang Lang Pavilion.
