With the development of digital humanities, distant reading in which computational methods are applied to literary analysis is drawing more attention. Combined with computational visual methods, this kind of text processing and its application has been developed all around the world. This article serves as an introduction to the theory and practice of text visual distant reading. Case studies are used to discuss its advantages, problems to be solved and significance.
