美国东北部文献保护中心以优质的纸质文献修复、灾难救援服务及其在专业人员培训、公众文献保护意识培养方面的努力著称。《图书馆及档案馆文献保护实用指南》是该中心在培训文献保护专业人员以及开展文献保护教育方面的系统性、代表性成果之一。该书与文献保护工作实践紧密结合,在文献保护的概念、保护与利用的关系、数字化环境对文献保护的影响等方面进行了深层思考。该书对我国各级区域古籍保护中心的工作有借鉴意义。

The book acts a practical preservation guide for small and medium depository institutions as well as makes a deep thinking on some preservation questions so that it could be a good reference to development of regional ancient books preservation centers in China.
