杜牧擅长诗、文、赋的创作,其中诗歌创作成就最为突出。据统计,寄赠诗共计八十余首,寄赠主体主要为同僚友人、歌妓、亲人、僧侣处士。内容主要是表达对主体的怀念、称赞、规劝、勉励和怜悯之情。此外,寄赠诗还折射出杜牧的处世原则以及"出仕"与"归隐"的矛盾心理。

DuMu has achieved a great achievement in the poem writing in his life. According to the statistics, the number of poewy written as a gift wrote by DuMu are more than eighty pieces. From the contents point of those poems, he expressed the thoughts of yearning, admiration, recommendation, encouragement and sympathy. Moreover, it also refracted his ways of life and ambivalence of being an official and being a retired.
