认知动词“Believe”和“Think”的交际功能研究——以英美国家领导人就职演讲为例

摘要 以英美国家领导人的就职演讲为研究语料,分析演讲稿中认知动词"Believe"和"Think"的交际功能以及二者在承诺值上的差异,着重分析二者在"政治承诺"表达中的作用。"I/We+believe/think"结构在政治代言人和听众间扮演着心理桥梁作用,该结构的使用可缩短言者与听者间的心理距离,以便听者更好地理解、接受乃至践行言者的政治意图,使就职演讲在言者与听者之间形成心理共鸣。 The data of this paper is British and American leaders' inaugural addresses and then the paper analyses the commu- nicative function of cognitive verbs "believe" and "think" in inaugural addresses and their differences in commitment degree. After that, this study focuses on the analysis of their functions in commitment expressing. The structures of "I/We + believe/think" play the role of psychological bridge between speakers and listeners, the employment of these structures could shorten the psychological distance between them, which could make the listeners understand, accept even practice the listener' s political intention better and lead to psychological resonance between speakers and listeners.
