The Unified Pricing System of French Books Based on the Theory of Cultural Exception

法国图书统一定价制度源于其一直倡导的"文化例外"理论,认为图书不是普通商品,不能完全遵循市场自由定价机制。该制度由1981年8月10日颁布的"朗格法"确立。该法律自实施至今在稳定书价、繁荣图书市场、振兴图书业等方面发挥了积极作用。今天,随着数字化技术的发展,电子书市场逐渐兴起,法国依然坚持图书统一定价制度,并于2011年颁布"电子书统一定价法",将图书统一定价制度延伸至电子书领域。

The unified pricing system of French books has been originated from the theory of cultural exception. This system is promulgated by the ＇Law Lang＇ in August 10, 1981. Since then, the law has contributed in the stabilization of the book price, the prosperity of the book market, the revitalization of the book industry. Today, with the development of digital technology, the e-book market rise gradually. But France still adhere to the unified pricing system of books and promulgated the ＂law of e-book unified pricing＂ in 2011 to standardize the electronic book pricing.
