中华民族:一体化还是多元化?

Chinese Nation: Integration or Diversification?

"民族"概念传入时,中国并不存在与之相符的实体。中华民族是在国内既有的各个历史文化群体日趋一致的基础上构建起来的,其他历史文化群体也在此过程中被构建成为各个民族。因此,中华民族构建和发展过程中的"一体"和"多元"的关系问题就出现了,即强化中华民族的一体性和一体化发展,就必然会对组成中华民族的各个民族群体的发展形成制约;反之,强化中华民族的多元性和多元化发展,中华民族的凝聚性和整体性就可能被解构。关于此问题的讨论在中华民族构建的各个时期都存在,最终都是由当时的历史给出答案的。今天,中华民族是朝着"一体"的方向发展还是朝着"多元"的方向发展的问题再次出现。根据历史经验,只有将问题置于现实的需要中来讨论才能做出理性的选择。从中国在激烈的国际竞争中追求的国家目标来看,中华民族朝着一体化的方向发展,才能为中国崛起和中国梦的实现提供必要支持。

When 'nation'was first introduced to China,there was no equivalent Chinese entity to it. The building of Chinese Nation was based on the process during which cultural groups assimilated each other. Likewise is the building of other nations. Therefore,a controversial issue emerged during the formation and development of Chinese Nation,that is,to be integrated or be diverse. If the prime target is to be integrated,the development of individual nationalities that consist of Chinese Nation would be confined. On the contrary,if the primary goal is to be diverse,the cohesion and integrity of Chinese Nation would be weakened. In Chinese history,the issue appeared in every stage of the gradual formation of Chinese Nation. During each historical period,how to handle the issue was illustrated by relative historical factors. Today,the issue is emerging again. According to history,feasible strategies cannot be made without taking the present circumstances in consideration. Judging from the competitive international environment and China's national ambition,to be integrated is worthy of option.It will contribute to the Rise of China and Chinese Dream.
