Unabsorbed Slack, Environmental Scanning and Exploratory Innovation: A Study Based on the Moderation Effect of Internal and External Factors

基于我国303家制造类企业的调研数据,首先研究了环境扫描在未吸收冗余和探索式创新之间起到的中介作用,继而探讨了企业家导向和产业竞争强度对未吸收冗余和环境扫描之间关系的调节作用。结果表明:环境扫描在未吸收冗余和探索式创新之间起到了完全中介作用;单独而言,产业竞争强度负向调节未吸收冗余和环境扫描之间的关系,而企业家导向对这一关系的正向调节作用并不显著;同时考虑产业竞争强度和企业家导向时,两者的交互项正向调节了未吸收冗余和环境扫描之间关系。

Based on the survey data of 303 Chinese manufacturing firms, this study first investigates the media- tion role environmental scanning in the relationship between unabsorbed slack and exploratory innovation, and also probe into the moderation role of entrepreneurial orientation and industry competitive intensity. Results show that, environmental scanning fully mediates the relationship between unabsorbed slack and exploratory innovation; At the condition of considering firm internal or external factors, industry competitive intensity negatively moderates the relationship between unabsorbed slack and environmental scanning, but the positive moderation effect of entre- preneurial orientation on this relationship is not significant. At the condition of considering both internal and exter- nal factors, the interaction of entrepreneurial orientation and industry competitive intensity positively moderates the relationship between unabsorbed slack and environmental scanning
