"Chang'an City Map", which was created in the third year of Yuan Feng period in the Northern Song Dynasty (1080), is the oldest city map caved in stone that is reserved in China. However, it was severely damaged in war, which makes it impossible for people to have a complete view of it. Nevertheless, we can still see the concept and wisdom of city planning from the remaining fragments of it. This paper, based on previous studies and through analyzing the rubbings of the tablet fragments and relevant historical documents of Chang'an City in the Sui and Tang Dynasties, as well as the archaeological materials concerned, tries to study and conduct a supplementary drawing to the lost part of the "Chang'an City Map", in order to lay the foundation for revealing the wisdom of China's local planning.
