Analysis of Image Building of Characters in Shen Congwen's Vegetable Garden from Perspective of Intertextuality

《菜园》是沈从文成熟时期创作的短篇小说,小说充分体现了沈从文作家主体精神的一个关键词——"生命观",而人性问题又是"生命观"的核心。文章就互文性造就玉家菜园的象征意义、意象互文、古典文化造就的互文等方面,对小说《菜园》中人物形象塑造进行互文性解读,从而探寻沈从文赞美和追求美好人性理念的表达方式。

Vegetable Garden, an early short story written by Shen Congwen, fully exemplifies the essence of his spirit： a view of life. Moreover, humanity as the core of outlook on life is the base point and symbol of Shen＇s writing. Therefore, in order to understand his outlook on life, humanity needs to be sufficiently analyzed and comprehended. To explore the way in which Shen pursues glorious humanity, the author analyzes the character -shaping in the novelVegetable Garden from three perspectives as follows： the garden＇ s symbolic meaning, images and classic culture all based on intertextuality.
