In the world system theory, historical materialism is still believed the most effective scientific research method in contemporary world. So the world system school have combined the theory with major issues in the development of social history, and rethought the mode of production, social form, world history, capitalism and socialism, and formed their unique theory. Their theory, in a sense, promotes theoretical innovation of the historical materialism in contemporary world, which contains positive significance.
