The chemometrics has already become one of the crucial issues of quantitative analysis and research in ecology. This study,by investigating eco-stoichiometric research results from 1995 to 2015 ,carried out a systematic analysis of the existing achievements with eco-stoiehiometric char- acteristics and their driving factors influencing desert plants in arid and semi-arid desert ecological region as well as in alpine desert and semi-arid desert ecological region. The results demonstrated that: 1) In desert ecosystem,N and P were the major limiting nutrient elements, and there are sig- nificant differences in the content of C,N and P in different plant life form (herb〉shrub〉arbor in descending order of content of C,N and P) ; 2) The stoichiometric ratio of C: N:P in the leaves of major shrub plants in desert areas varied in the whole growing season, that is,there was a lower sea- sonal variation for the content of C, N as well as C. N in the leaves of the individual desert plant, while there was a higher seasonal variation in the P content of leaves,C:P and N. P; 3) The eco- stoichiometry characteristics in leaves of desert plants varied according to the environment. Even same plants also showed different eco-stoichiometry characteristics. This studies will provide theo- retical guidance and reference for the maintenance of desert ecosystem balance as well as the protec- tion of the species variety in ecologically fragile zones.
