六朝佛教行记文献十种叙录

The Description of Ten Buddhist Travel Notes in the Six Dynasties

自佛教传入中国以来,汉地僧侣前往佛国求经巡礼者不乏其人,行记类文献应运而生。支僧载《外国事》、释法显《佛国记》、竺法维《佛国记》、释智猛《游行外国传》、昙无竭《外国传》、释法盛《历国传》、释昙景《外国传》以及记载慧生等人西行求法的《慧生行传》《宋云家记》《道荣传》等著作十种,都曾先后别行于世,其学术价值不菲。除释法显《佛国记》保存较为完整,《慧生行传》幸赖《洛阳伽蓝记》卷五之节录、拼补而存其崖略,其它佛教行记大多亡佚不存。兹对六朝佛教行记文献进行叙录,给予后学以西域研究和佛教文化研究之用。

Since the Buddhist had been introduced into china, many Chinese monks had gone to Bud- dhism countries and sought the classics through a tour, while some Buddhist travel notes produced at the right time. Zhi Sengzai＇s Foreign Things, Faxian＇s Buddhism Countries Notes, Fawei＇s Buddhism Coun- tries Notes, Shi Zhimeng＇s Travel Notes in Foreign Country, Tan Wujie＇s Foreign Biography, Shi Fasheng＇s Experience Foreign Countries, Shi Tanjing＇s Foreign Biography, as well as Shi Huisheng Bi- ography, Song Yun biography and Shi Daorong Biography which recorded the travel of Shi Huisheng and other members pilgrimaging to India to seek scriptures, all existed and had high academic value. However while Buddhism Countries Notes had been preserved completely, Shi Huisheng Biography fortunately extracted and scraped together and showed a partial existence through the Volume V of Buddhist Temples in Luoyang, most other Buddhist travel notes had been lost. Now we descript the Buddhist travel notes in the six dynasties, with hope to serve the later generation scholars for research of the western regions and Buddhist.
