Contemporary Cognitive Study on Metaphor Clusters

隐喻簇是隐喻认知机制在语言符号中的主要表现形式。文章对近40年来国外隐喻簇研究的历史与现状进行了梳理和反思,对隐喻簇研究的哲学起源、隐喻簇研究的跨学科性质、隐喻簇的识别方法、隐喻簇的认知理据和认知功能等现有研究进行了系统介绍和深入讨论,并指出了在隐喻簇识别标准、意义建构和理论框架等方面亟待进一步研究的问题。

As phor clusters a ubiquitous cognitive mechanism, conceptual metaphor represents itself mainly in the form of meta- in natural language of human beings. By reviewing and reflecting upon the history and progress of the studies on metaphor clusters over the past 4 decades, this paper systematically observes and discusses the philo- sophical origin and the interdisciplinary nature of the studies on metaphor clusters, the empirical methods employed in the recognition of metaphor clusters as well as the cognitive motivation and functions of metaphor clusters. It points out the critical issues that need to be addressed concerning the recognition criteria, meaning construction and theoretical framework of metaphor clusters.
