Leap Forward and Reentrant: Review and Refection on Library Cause of China During the "Great Leap Forward" Period

"左倾"的"大跃进"是一段短暂的狂飙突进,图书馆也不可避免地参与其中。本文通过文献调查法,分析了图书馆大跃进的时代背景,指出其必然性。一方面,"大跃进"推动了图书馆数量大幅增长,布局更趋完善,激发了技术革新和互助网络形成,优化了组织和人才结构,促进了读者服务的有效开展;但另一方面,业务重心畸形发展,对行业精英进行错误批判等各种激进举措对行业发展造成不可挽回的阻碍。

＂Left-leaning＂ ＂Great Leap Forward＂ was a brief period of development, and library also had been inevitably involved. This paper analyzes the historical background and points out the inevitability through literature survey. On the one hand, ＂Great Leap Forward＂ stimulated a substantial in- crease of library, perfected the layout, stimulated technological innovation and the conformation of cooperative network, optimized organizational and personnel structures and promoted the effective development of reader service. However, various radical measures including wrongly criticizing scholars and the abnormal development of library businesses hampered the library industrial development.
