More than 1200 years ago,Monk Jianzhen arrived at Kagoshima on December 20.On the same date last year,the opera Monk Jianzhen's Eastivard Journey premiered in Tokyo.Composer Tang Jianping only discovered the coincidence after the world premiere was set.This work unfolds like an epic scroll that fuses Buddhist music,regional styles of Jiangsu as well as Japanese influence.
