大果无籽西瓜新品种‘黑神98’的选育

Breeding of big fruit seedless watermelon cultivar ‘Heishen 98'

‘黑神98’是以‘9068’为母本、‘D89-4’为父本选育而成的大果型无籽西瓜中晚熟新品种。该品种植株生长势强,全生育期104 d左右;果实高圆球形,果皮墨绿色覆蜡粉,果皮光滑,无棱沟;瓤色大红,瓤质紧脆,中心可溶性固形物含量12.0%左右,边部8.5%左右,果皮厚度1.2 cm左右,果形指数1.05。雌花开放至果实成熟34 d,第1雌花着生节位6~8节,以后每隔4~5节着生雌花,易坐果。口感风味好,纤维极少,无着色秕籽,白秕籽小且极少,无籽性好。果皮坚硬,耐贮运,货架期长,果实商品率90%,抗病性强,单瓜质量6.0~8.0 kg,667 m^2产量3 000~3 500 kg。该品种适应性强,全国各地均可栽培。2016年6月通过湖南省农作物品种审定委员会审定。

‘Heishen 98＇ is a new mid-late maturing triploid seedless watermelon cuhivar bred by crossing tetraploid line ‘9068＇ as female parent with diploid line ‘D89-4＇ as male parent. Its plant grows vigorously, and the whole growth period is about 104 days from sowing. This cuhivar is characterized by its short-oval fruit with shape index of 1.05, pitch-black exoearp covered with wax powder, about 1.2 cm periearp thickness. The skin is smooth without edge groove and red fruit flesh with crisp and fine texture, and about 12% and 8.5% of center and side soluble solids content. The fruit developing period is about 34 days from female flower blooming. The first female flower on main vine appears in the 6th to 8th node, fol- lowed by female flower each 4-5 nodes. This fruit sets easily with very few fiber content and seed traces and tastes very deli- cious. The fruit has good store and transport properties with 90% of marketable rate and displays good shelf life, because its periearp is firm and strong. ‘Heishen 98＇ has strong disease resistance and the average fruit weight is about 6.0-8.0 kg and the yield on 667 m2 is about 3 000-3 500 kg. The variety adaptability is strong and can be cultivated all over the country.
