生态翻译理论下的辜鸿铭《论语》英译本研究

Research on Gu Hongming's English Translation of "The Discourses and Sayings of Confucius" from the Perspective of Ecological Translation

《论语》是记录孔子及其弟子言行的一部书。在对外传播中,不同译者从不同视角对《论语》形成了多个英译版本。本文引入清华大学胡庚申教授提出的翻译适应选择理论,选择辜鸿铭《论语》英译本作为研究内容,在简述"生态翻译学"内涵的基础上,对辜鸿铭《论语》英译本的多维度适应性选择进行研究,从而得出译者在复杂的翻译实践活动中,应该尽力立足特定的翻译生态环境,采取合适的翻译方法,旨在扭转西方人对我国文化的偏见,重塑中国传统文化在世界历史舞台上的轴心地位。

＂The Discourses and Sayings of Confucius＂ is a set of books recording the words and deeds of Confucius and his disci- ples. In international communications, different translators have different English translations from different perspectives. Intro- ducing the theory of translation as adaptation and selection pro- posed by Professor Hu Gcngshen of Tsinghua University, this pa- per selects Gu Hongming＇s English translation of ＂The Discourses and Sayings of Confucius＂ as the research content. On the basis of a briefly introduction to the connotation of ＂ecological transla- tion＂, the writer studies the multi-dimensional adaptive selection of Gu Hongming＇s English translation of ＂The Discourses and Sayings of Confucius＂, thus coming to the conclusion that a translator should strive to stand on a specific translation eeo-en- vironment and take proper translation methods in complex trans- lation practice, aiming to reverse Westerners＇ prejudices against Chinese culture and reestablish the central position of traditional Chinese culture in world history.
