In Balzac’s texts, credit is an important theme which connects different novels. Balzac seized the core issue of French society by the writing of credit of city and country. He revealed the economic causes behind the complex social contradictions and conflicts. Economic thinking of the nineteenth century wanted to neutralize the system of credit, while Balzac clarified the essence of this neutralization and the defects of this system.
