This paper analyzed the working principle, composition and the advantages of GPS-RTK technology, and discussed its appli-cation in surveying and mapping and setting-out in coal mines of mountain area so as to provide references for the related research, promote the development of GPS-RTK technology and improve the efficiency of surveying in coal mines.
