Global Issues and Chinese Projects: a Sino-foreign Dialogue with David Harvey

在全球化、全球对话主义越来越受到关注的今天,各种声音此起彼伏,各种争辩不绝于耳,世界范围内各种问题不断涌现,政治、经济、思想、文化等各个领域都面临着新的形势和挑战。中国作为世界上一支重要的力量,如何不断发展自己并适应全球化的背景需求,如何向世界传播中国的声音,探索解决当代世界问题的中国方案,是一个必须思考和坚持的问题。在这个情况下,中国社会科学院文学所"当代文化理论"创新小组邀请美国著名马克思主义理论家大卫·哈维教授前来与中国学者就如何运用马克思主义理论分析和解决当代重大文化问题举行中美双边对谈会。多名中国著名学者参与了对谈,对谈会由中国社会科学院文学研究所理论室主任、研究员、博士生导师金惠敏先生主持。

The age of globalization has witnessed a surge of new issues and challenges in the economic,political and cultural spheres.With this,contending voices rise and fall,global dialogism being one of them. As China is approaching the center of the world stage,an urgent question presents itself as to how it can fit in with globalization while seeking better development,how it may have its own voice heard by the world and how Chinese proposals might contribute to deal with global issues. With this in mind,the contemporary cultural theory innovation group of the Literature Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences invited the renowned Marxist critic David Harvey for a dialogue with his Chinese counterparts. The dialogue was chaired by Pro. Huimin Jin,chief researcher and Director of Dept. of Literary Theory.
