Directed-energy weapons is a new kind of weapon, they will likely be used for aircraft carriers. This paper introduces the development and basic principle of the directed-energy weapon technology currently being developed abroad,and analyzes the potential application direction of the directed-energy weapon in the carrier and aircraft carrier fleet. In addition, the paper analyzes the directed-energy weapons integration on the CVN 78 carrier.
