Reevaluation on the Tendency of“Finding the Source of Literary Quotations without Explaining the Meaning in Poetry and Prose Annotation”

《文选》注释研究领域始终存在一个误区,即对"释事忘义"这个历史上长期存在的现象持负面评价。厘清这个问题对诗文注释理论与实践具有重大的指导意义。所谓的"释事忘义"其实是古人对于"征引式"为主"直解式"为辅的注释方式的批评。对于诗文注释来说,这两种注释方式各有优劣。文本类型、注释者的注释目标、读者预设、个性、兴趣、知识结构等因素影响了注释者的选择和使用。因此,用带有贬义色彩的"释事忘义"这个词一概而论地批评以"征引式"为主"直解式"为辅的注释方式,这是不科学的。

People have been holding a negative attitude to＂finding the source of literary quotations without explaining the meaning in poetry and prose annotation＂for a long time. However,it is a misunderstanding.It is of great significance to dispel this misunderstanding to the theory and practice in poetry and prose annotation.The so-called＂finding the source of literary quotations without explaining the meaning in poetry and prose annotation＂is a kind of criticism to ancient people as a method of glossing which uses＂finding the source of literary quotations＂as a principal way and＂explaining the meaning directly＂as an aid in poetry and prose annotation.In fact,the two ways in poetry and prose annotation both have their own advantages and disadvantages in poetry and prose annotation.An annotator＇s selection and usage are often influenced by many factors,such as the text type,annotator＇s goal,targeted reader group,personality,interest and structure of knowledge.So it is not scientific to criticize the annotation method of＂finding the source of literary quotations＂as a principal way and＂explaining the meaning directly＂as an aid in poetry and prose annotation by using the generalized expression of＂finding the source of literary quotations without explaining the meaning in poetry and prose annotation＂with derogatory sense.
