中西思维方式差异在英汉互译中的体现

The Differences Between Chinese and Western Thinking Modes Embodied in Translation Between English and Chinese

语言是思维的载体。在漫长的历史过程中,中西方因其所处的地理环境不同,生活条件、风俗习惯各异,形成了不同的思维方式。中西方思维方式差异是文化差异的一个主要方面,本文将从三个方面介绍中西思维方式的不同,它包括抽象思维与具像思维,直线思维与曲线思维,个体分析性思维与整体综合性思维。

Language is the carrier of thinking. In the long historical process,because of their different geographical environment,living conditions,customs and habits,Chinese and Westerners have evolved different ways of thinking, which includes difference between abstract thinking and image thinking,linear thinking and curve thinking,individual analytical thinking and holistic thinking. This thesis mainly elaborates the impact of thought patterns on translation through the above mentioned aspects.
