Domestication and Foreignization in English Translation of Traditional Chinese Medicine under Translation Distance

从翻译距离角度,简要论述了中医文本英译过程中存在的翻译问题,分析了归化与异化两种翻译策略在中医文本英译过程中的应用。归化策略将中西医表达充分融合,有助于中医知识在国际舞台的推广,异化策略则保留了中医文化独有的特色,有助于中医文化在国际舞台的推广。

This paper briefly expounds the translation difficulties occurred in translation process from perspective of translation distance,and analyzes applications of domestication and foreignization in English translation of TCM.Domestication will make full integration of expressions in TCM and western medicine,which will expand popularization of TCM knowledge to the world.While,foreignization will conserve its unique features and bring benefits to promotion of TCM culture to the world.
