Rivers and China Development

近十年来,作者走遍中国的主要江河流域:长江、西江、淮河、黄河、松花江与黑龙江。研究江河保护、供水、农业灌溉、航运、水电建设与流域发展等问题,推动航道法立法。江河是中国生态安全、粮食安全的生命线,是中国经济持续前进的航道,必须思考保护、利用与发展。

In recent ten years,the author has walked through all China＇ s major river basins： the Xijiang River,the Yangtze River,the Huaihe River,the Yellow River,the Songhua River and Heilongjiang River so as to make a study on rivers protection,water supply,agricultural irrigation,shipping,hydropower construction and development of river basins and promote the legalization of the waterway law. Rivers are the lifeblood of ecological security and food security as well as assurance for the continuous economic development in China. Therefore,their protection,utilization and development should be taken into careful consideration.
