Taking the improvement project of settlements along Dongyan line in Xichang as the example, the paper analyzes the special require-ments for the areas with the earthquake fortification intensity 9 and other standard differences and the seismic houses, introduces the principle for the seismic fortification, illustrates its construction craft and controlling measures, so as to avoid the losses in life, property and economic con-struction by the earthquakes.
