Seal428 is a powerful system designed for marine seismic data acquisition. The seismic data is stored through SEG--D file. The format of SEG--D file is changeable. The location, byte size and important contents of SEG--D file are different in various seismic equipments. Researchers must know the accurate structure of file prior to working on seismic data by writing a program. This article mainly introduces the format of SEG--D disk file in Sea1428 system. Based on Matlab language, the writer compiles a program used to view file header and seismic data.
